Postcard Project Art Display
January 16 - February 14
Over the past three years, a collaborative group of faiths and residents have been working to lift up the voice of the community around issues that divide us.
The CV Postcard Project started as a way to encourage the Chippewa Valley to be a community inclusive of all races, to support each other as we figure out how to do that, and be a way for people to express their thoughts and feelings on a difficult topic through art on postcards.
Last year’s second installment was around welcoming of all people more generally – being kind to all people. Hundreds of participants across the Chippewa Valley participated in making post-card art that we collected in one voice.
This year the theme took a new direction as the mental health crisis is undeniable, and JONAH absorbed the project fiscally. People were asked to reflect on the crisis and offer their thoughts through word and art.
You can view the ENTIRE collection of postcard art at the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library from January 16 -February 14 at the ground level gallery.
Big thanks to Amy Hahn, local art therapist, for leading this project and making this public display happen.
